Shipping/Receiving Specialist- GALVANIZING

Responsibilities:
Safely runs, maneuvers, navigates or drives heavy equipment or mechanized equipment in shipping and/or receiving area, such as forklifts, etc.
Prepares shipments by organizing materials and building loads
Inspects all outgoing shipments of materials and equipment to ensure accuracy and maintain files for all necessary documentation by recording all shipped materials with proper identification.
Ensures no damaged materials are shipped without properly identifying the damage and notifying the proper personnel.
Safely loads outgoing shipments with the proper use of forklifts, overhead cranes, material shuttles, pallet trucks, etc.
Communicates the status of outgoing material to the appropriate personnel
Properly inspects all lifting equipment prior to use (forklifts, cranes, monorails, chains, slings, etc.)
Uses good judgment, follow instructions and have good problem solving abilities.
Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
Excellent attention to detail and strong ability to multi-task.
Actively seeks and supports continuous improvement activities in process efficiencies, costs and effectiveness of work.
Reads work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or material or equipment needs.
Enforce established housekeeping standards.
Additional duties as assigned by Supervisor and/or Management.
Requirements:
Previous forklift experience required
Must be able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving entire body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, bending, twisting and handling of materials. Must be able to climb stairs/ladders and to maneuver on/off 18 wheeler trucks for inspection and/or rigging.
Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.
Excellent communication skills, including reading, writing and speaking English
Possesses strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Must be able to work in an outside manufacturing environment for long shifts, including some weekends.
Must have the ability to concentrate on tasks for long periods of time and be able to observe and receive information from all relevant sources.
Position requires manual dexterity, arm-hand steadiness and a safety-minded individual.
Must be able to work in an open environment exposed to extreme temperatures.
Must be able to obtain SG Crane/Forklift Certification.
Ability to work well with people in a number of positions
Educational Requirements:
Ability to read, write and speak English fluently is required
High School Diploma or GED Equivalent preferred
Shift:
Monday - Friday 6a - 5p. Some Saturdays may be required.



Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
